Important Details

I9 Sports Spring 2021 Flag Football Program Details @ Avondale Middle School in Rochester Hills:

***Senior Division (age group 10+) may be a semi travel league where half of the games may be in Rochester, Royal Oak, Clarkston, Lake Orion, West Bloomfield, Shelby Township, or Chesterfield and the rest at your home field (games can be played on Saturday or Sunday and we attempt to keep them as close to your home field as possible).

All other age groups (ages 4-9 and younger 10) will play all of other games at the location you sign up for.

• All Division have experienced, paid i9 instructors ready to assist, organize, and support our trained volunteers during practices and games.

• 7 Week Schedule - Including an opening day and playoffs.

• Everybody plays. Every game!

• There are No Tryouts, No Drafts, and No Fundraisers!

• Teams are organized in divisions based on the age of the child. Depending on age group and format, teams consist of 9 - 10 players on rosters.

• Practices are conveniently held on game day - just prior to the game.

Equipment

• An official i9 Sports® Reversible Flag Football Jersey is provided and included in your fee

• An official i9 Sports® flag belt is provided for use

• Players may wear shorts or sweatpants (No pockets or belt loops)

• Rubber cleats or sneakers (No metal spikes)

• Mouth guards are required at all times during play – Sold at the Field for $3

Awards
Each player will receive an i9 Sportsmanship Award during the season. These awards are given to a few players each week for demonstrating the "sportsmanship value" for that week (all players will receive one by the end of the season). In addition to the Sportsmanship Award, all players will receive a super cool, end of the season "Personalized, Sport Specific i9 Medal."

Coaches
All coaches are i9 Sports Certified and undergo a background check.

Coaching is both rewarding and fun! If you are interested in learning more about coaching with i9 Sports, please visit the “Become A Coach” page of the website or sign up during the registration process.
We provide weekly, age-appropriate practice plans to make sure the coaching experience is organized, fun, and stress-free! And, of course, volunteer coaches always have an experienced i9 Sports staff member nearby for support, if needed, during practices or game time.


Staff
There will be an i9 Sports Site Manager as well as an i9 Sports Flag Football Coordinator on site to assist in programming details and provide support to players, coaches, and parents. These staff members undergo a background check. This is unique to most other leagues. Our instructors come to every practice/game with a great deal of knowledge; not just about sports, but about kids and know exactly the right strategy, drill, and/or technique to motivate any player.


i9 Sports Families
It is the essence of the i9 Sports Experience to have families attend practice and games to cheer on their athlete(s). We encourage at least one parent or guardian to join in all game day activities as a spectator, motivator and role model. Let's work together to put the "fun" back into youth sports!
